Sky have been bringing several new comedies to our screens recently with mixed re-action including Trollied and Mount Pleasant. Why comedy can rarely appeal to everyone, Sky have to be applauded for at least bringing something new to our screens.

Their latest comedy is “Spy” starring Robert Lindsay and Darren Boyd. Originally airing on Friday this new sitcom is certainly the best Sky Comedy so far and even episode 1 shows superb promise. Unlike a lot of comedy recently, this one is a great family show that manages to bring something entirely new to the table.

The story revolves around Darren Boyd, the hapless familyman who accidentally ends up in the secret service under the direction of the brilliant Robert Lindsay. We’re confident that this is going to turn into Sky’s best comedy and well worth catching if you have subscription TV.

For those that missed episode one you can catch it again on Sky 2 tomorrow at 20:30. Hit the comments with your opinions, particularly those who didn’t take to the more ‘modern’ approach with Mount Pleasant. Future episodes will be on Sky’s Comedy Fridays.

Easily the best new comedy of 2011, I was amazed at how funny it was right from the start (didn’t have to wait 4-5 episodes to ‘GET’ it).
    Great characters
    Funny plot
can’t wait for season 2 (how about a DVD/Blu-Ray release?)

Love this comedy. I was wondering where I would be able to purchase a copy of the theme song?
