An Audience Without Jeremy Beadle – 2008
So who’s the guy in the picture? All will be revealed.
Jeremy Beadle was perhaps Britain’s best loved and most famous practical joker. Sadly in January of 2008, he passed away.
Almost four months after his death ITV commissioned An Audience Without… Jeremy Beadle, to celebrate his best work and raise money for some of his favourite charities.
On 31st March 2008, it was announced that from 1st April 2008, prior to a May transmission, ITV were putting up a website that linked to Jeremy’s ten best ever pranks, visitors were asked to vote for their favourite, the results to be announced on the night.
Before a star studded audience of Jeremy’s celebrity friends and TV admirers, Chris Tarrant hosted a tribute to the prankster’s innovative comic style, giving friends and fans a chance to smile again at his best work.
Also appearing were some of Jeremy’s “victims” who were spoofed on national TV by the king prankster.
Of course it wouldn’t be the same without pranks so the top five best pranks as voted for by the public were revealed.
However there was a serious side to the show as they were raising money for some of Jeremy’s favourite charities.
