Dad’s Army Movie Begins Filming

Filming has begun on the much anticipated new movie version of Dad’s Army in Yorkshire, some way away from the show’s original fictional East Sussex location.

A press released plot reads:

It is 1944 and World War II is reaching its climax. The Allies are poised to invade France and finally defeat the German army. But in Walmington-on-Sea, morale among the Home Guard is low. Their new mission then – to patrol the Dover army base – is a great chance to revive spirits and reputation, that is until glamorous journalist Rose Winters arrives to write about their exploits, setting the pulses racing and putting the local women on red alert. MI5 then discover a radio signal sent direct to Berlin from Walmington-on-Sea. There’s a spy on the loose! The outcome of the war is suddenly at stake, and it falls to our unlikely heroes to stand up and be counted.

Nice To See You To See You….. Perhaps Not

There has been much speculation over whether or not this is going to happen, particularly as rumours are rife that Simon Cowell is planning a similar show with ITV, but families are being invited to appear in a TV entertainment show hosted by Miranda Hart.  It is being described as a “one off special” for BBC One.

The description reads: “Miranda Hart is looking for fun families for her new one off special on BBC One. She is looking for families of all ages and generations to come to the studio for the chance to win some amazing prizes. Such Fun will be had!”

No firm broadcast details have been given or even if it will ever get that far, remember Paul O’Grady filmed somthing called The Generation Game some years back but at the artist’s request it was never broadcast as O’Grady felt it wasn’t for him.  We’ll have to wait and see, but if you want to apply http://www.lostintv.com/tv-show?id=589
