It seems so sad that in a year where we are celebrating comedy that so many talents are passing away, just when you think surely no more comes the sad news of another.
Best known for her work in The Royle Family, The Mrs Merton Show and The Fast Show: comedy actress and writer Caroline Aherne has died aged just 52, after loosing her battle with throat cancer.
Caroline and her brother were both born with retina cancer and she later suffered from the disease in her bladder and her lungs. She took time out from her latest role narrating ‘Gogglebox’ reportedly to fight throat cancer and returned to the show earlier this year.
In a statement released by her publicist, Neil Redding, 2nd July it was announced “Caroline Aherne has sadly passed away after a brave battle with cancer,”
