Based on actual characters and events Cradle To Grave is based on former BBC 5 Live radio presenter Danny Baker’s book Going To Sea In a Sieve.

This comedy drama reminiscent of Minder meets the Grimleys made it’s debut in 2015, with a second series reported to be on the way.  It is the sitcom with a bit of something for everyone from the wheeling and dealing of Danny’s Dad Spud to Danny’s early attempts at his love life with the extremely sexy school teacher Miss Blondel.

Brilliant casting sees Peter kay as Danny’s Dad ‘Spud.  Despite it’s strong cast there was only ever of series of eight episodes.

Summary

Set in 1974, the series centres around 15-year-old Danny Baker who lives at 11 Debnams Rd in London with his family that consist of his father Fred (nicknamed Spud), mother Bet, and older siblings Michael and Sharon. It also shows Danny’s adventures with his friends, going to school where he finds himself torn between glory with the school football team and extra curricular activities in the dark room with the beautiful photography teacher Miss Blondel.  The series also dealt with his relationship with his girlfriend Yvonne.
