Dead Ringers – Radio Series – 2000 – 2007

Dead Ringers started out life as a Radio Series before making it to television.  Devised by producer Bill Dare and developed with Jon Holmes, Andy Hurst and Simon Blackwell, it ran for eight series between 2000 and 2007.   The series returned to BBC Radio 4 in 2014 and is still running today.

The first series was slightly different from other instalments in that it featured a different line up to what would become the established team.  This line up comprised: Jon Culshaw and Jan Ravens, who would go on to feature as part of established line up, it also featured the talents of: Kate Robbins, Simon Lipson and Alistair McGowan.

Summary

The show features artists performing wind up calls and sketches impersonating famous people usually a celebrity or a politician.

Perhaps the best remembered is Jon Culshaw’s Tom Baker.
