Sad news today as it was announced that actress and comdeienne, Janet Brown has died aged 87, passing away peacefully in her sleep.
Janet Brown made her TV Debut in the 1950’s, presenting Picture Box, but it is perhaps her utterly convincing impression of Margeret Thatcher that most people will remember her for.
When Margaret Thatcher was elected as the leader of the Conservative Party in 1975, Brown gained increasing prominence because of her realistic impression of the Tory politician.  She performed as Thatcher on BBC TV’s Mike Yarwood Show, on BBC Radio’s The News Huddlines, and on film in the 1981 James Bond film For Your Eyes Only.
