Brothers In Law, 1962

This 1960’s TV sitcom gave Richard Briers his first regular starring role in a television series.  Inspired by the 1955 novel of the same name by Henry Cecil Leon, the series ran for thirteen episodes in 1962.

The series is also notable for the TV debut of another comedy actor: Yootha Joyce who appeared in an episode entitled “Separation Order”

Like many TV comedies of the day it was eventually adapted for Radio.  Featuring almost all the original cast it was broadcast on Radio 4 over thirty nine episodes between 1970 and 1972.


The series follows the trials of an idealistic young lawyer  Roger Thursby as he enters the legal profession.
