Not In Front Of The Children, 1967
Another forgotten sitcom. Not In Front Of The Children was Wendy Craig’s first sitcom and her first playing what would become something of a trademark acting in many similar roles as a scatty housewife.
Not In Front Of The Children ran for four series between 1967 and 1970. During that time thirty nine episodes were made of which only eight still remain in the BBC archive.
In 1969 creator Richard Waring adapted 13 episodes for broadcast on BBC Radio 2. These are among the series that are repeated on BBC Radio 4 Extra check their website for details.
Summary
Jennifer Corner is a rather scatter brained middle-class homemaker. Her husband Henry is a school art teacher. They have three children, a boy in his early teens and two girls who were slightly younger.
In later series she has a baby and they move from the London suburb of Battersea to the country.
