channel4's cult sitcom "peep show"

Peep Show

Peep Show, 2003

Channel 4’s much loved cult favourite the Peep Show started out in 2003 and by 2010 it had become the channel’s longest running comedy.

The lead rolls were played by two rather well known comics that went on to other projects such as That Mitchell and Webb Look.

Running for nine series over twelve years, Peep Show became a cult favourite among the viewing public.  However, it never achieved the commercial success that might of being expected from the consistent critical acclaim.  Channel 4 continued to commission the show, but in 2013, as the show reached it’s ten year mark, the channel announced that the ninth series of the show would be the last.

Series nine was filmed two years later during  August and September 2015 and made it’s premiere on 11th November the same year.  The final episode premiered on 16th December 2015.

Summary

Peep Show follows the lives of Mark Corrigan  and Jeremy “Jez” Usbourne, two dysfunctional friends who share a flat in Croydon, London.

Mark is a socially awkward and despondent loan manager with a cynical outlook on life, whilst Jeremy is a juvenile slacker and unemployed would-be musician who lives in Mark’s spare room.
