Has It Really Been 25 Years Since We Lost Les?

Alan Carr Being Lined Up To Host Tribute To Late Comic

Les Dawson’s daughter Charlotte has revealed that she has asked Alan Carr to host a tribute to her late Father: Les Dawson, who died 25 years ago this year in 1993.

The stand-up, sketch star and pianist died of a sudden heart attack on 10th June 1993, aged 62. He was waiting at a local hospital in Manchester for the results of a routine check-up at the time. Charlotte was just 8 months old.

She says: “It’s my dad’s 25th anniversary this year so we’re doing a show with Alan Carr. We’re in talks at the moment and hoping to get lots of people involved. Alan really looked up to my dad and he’s a good friend of mine. It’s really exciting.”

Charlotte Dawson is a make up artist, model and television personality who has appeared in reality show Ex On The Beach and a number of documentaries about her father. No channel is yet attached to the project.

An industry source, commenting on the story in The Daily Mirror, said: “If Les’s family and friends were involved and Alan was fronting it, all the channels would be interested.”
