Wogan’s Perfect Recall, 2008

Sir Terry jumps back to out TV screens with his first Game Show outing since Blankety Blank: Wogan’s Perfect Recall.  The show became a poular teatime TV fixture.

The first series went out in 2008, the year before he signed off his BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show.  Perfect Recall would run for 150 shows over five series.

Summary

Round one is a general knowledge round with 20 questions. The contestant with the fewest points is eliminated.

In rounds 2 and 3, the questions are different but the answers remain the same. The contestant with the lowest points is eliminated in each of these rounds. This means contestants can answer either by knowing the answer and/or by remembering an answer from previous rounds.

When only one contestant is left they play for up to £100,000. They must choose the number of questions they think they can answer correctly in 60 seconds. If they get fewer, they leave with nothing, whilst if they get more they still only get the amount they have chosen. The minimum number of questions required to answer correctly in order to get any money is 11, whilst the most is 20. A finalist who won nothing received a consolation prize of a piggy bank.
