A Spell In The Ads – Arthur Lowe
In a episode of Hancock entitled “The Bowmans” we saw Tony Hancock going through a “lean spell in the pilchards ads”. Whilst this was scripted comedy Hancock did indeed make a run of commercials for the then “Egg Marketing Board”
The idea must have caught on as over the years many famous actors have appeared in TV ads.
Today we thought we’d have a look back at Arthur Lowe’s spell in the commercials.
Many remember Arthur Lowe for his starring roles in sitcoms such as Dad’s Army and Bless Me Father. Many may even remember his famous Hanky Panky Ad, but he did appear in a number of other ads.
