Copy Cats, 1985

Impressions on TV were nothing new and still aren’t to this day.  However they do make for some great entertainment.

Back in the early 1970’s ITV had success with a quickfire sketch show featuring some of the top impressionists of the day entitled Who Do You Do?

In 1985 London Weekend brought the formula back: Aiden J.Harvey and Johnny More from the original series were joined by a new crop of impressionists that included now well known entertainers Bobby Davro and Gary Willmot.

Copy Cats ran for three series notching up twenty episodes along the way.

A collection of quick fire sketches performed by top impressionists of the day.   Comedic targets included ‘Dallas’ ( Allan Stewart impersonating Sue-Ellen ),  Andrew O’Connor doing Rik Mayall.

Highlights in series two included Hilary O’Neil, whose Margaret Thatcher and Sybil Fawlty impressions were brilliant.
