Steptoe and Son – Tea For Two, 1970

Well it’s election day 2015, so we thought we’d find somthing topical, well almost it’s 45 years since this episode was first broadcast.

Tea For Two was originally broadcast in colour it was the fourth episode of series six of the popular sitcom.  It’s the Steptoes at their very best, arguing over their very different political views.

Campaigning for the local by-election has begun.  Harold is a avid Labour supporter, despite his failure to be selected as an election candidate.  Not surprisingly Albert is voting Tory.  When a Tory party official invites Albert to host tea with Prime Minister Heath he is delighted.

However as a Labour supporter Harold is appalled.  He announces his plans for a nude protest for the photo call, but a nasty surprise in the toilet is discovered quite literally by the Tory agent who he comes to announce that Heath’s visit is off.
