The Dalek Invasion Of Earth, 1964

Comedy writer Terry Nation had created a masterpiece with his Daleks, massively contributing to the success of the very first series.  It was only fitting therefore they should return for the show’s second series.

This story ran for six episodes in 1964.  It was significant in that it was the first time a regular companion left the show as we said goodbye to Susan at the end of episode 6.

The story was also the subject of the second feature film starring Peter Cushing as The Doctor.

Earth in the 22nd Century.  The Tardis materialises in what The Doctor believes to be London.

It’s not long before The Doctor and his companions realise something s wrong.  The Daleks occupy the planet following a meteorite strike and a deadly plague.

Working with a human resistance group The Doctor and his companions  travel to a Bedfordshire mine to stop the Daleks from mining out the Earth’s core as part of their plan to pilot the Earth through space.
