It’s Awfully Bad For Your Eyes Darling, 1971

It’s Awfully Bad For Your Eyes Darling had first appeared as a pilot episode in April 1971, before going on to run for a six part series later the same year.

It marked an early TV appearance for a young Joanna Lumley.  It’s also notable for an appearance as actor from someone who would go on to have significant success as a sitcom writer : Jeremy Lloyd.  It’s also notable for one of the series’ writers who herself went on to become a famous author of romance novels: Jilly Cooper.

Sadly like many shows of the time only one episode is still believed to exist in the archives.

Summary

The series revolved around four posh young women sharing a flat in London.
