The Blackpool Show, 1966
Continuing our look back at some of the less well remembered work of Tony Hancock.
The Blackpool Show was Hancock’s penultimate series for ITV and offered him a complete departure from his sketch and sitcom shows that had made up his previous ITV work. After an unbroadcast pilot in June 1966 an eight part series followed.
Not unlike his popular BBC Radio show Hancock was missing from two shows being replaced by Dave Allen and Bruce Forsyth respectively.
Summary
Broadcast from the ABC Theatre in Blackpool, Tony Hancock is your compere for a night of entertainment and variety.
