Chance In A Million, 1984
From the creators of The Brittas Empire comes Chance In A Million, a Channel 4 sitcom that ran for 3 series over 18 episodes between 1984 and 1986.
It starred Simon Callow, who recounted how much he enjoyed making the show and that the series was one of the most popular things he ever did. Co-star Brenda Blethyn (Vera) recalled in her 2006 autobiography “Mixed Fancies” of having clear and happy memories of her time making the show.
Summary
Tom Chance is a life-long victim of improbable coincidence. Alongside his long-suffering girlfriend Alison Little, they stumble into a string of hilarious misadventures.
The misadventures are usually incidents that are a million to one chance for most, but a matter of course for Tom Chance. However he takes it all on the chin, oblivious to much of the chaos surrounding him!
