Max And Paddy’s Road To Nowhere, 2004
A six part spin off from Phoenix Nights written by Peter Kay and Patrick McGuiness.
It sees the return of the two Bolton doormen/bouncers as they take a trip around Britain. A second series was provisionally planed for 2016, but put on hold after Peter Kay confirmed a third series of Phoenix Nights. To date (December 2019) neither series has seen a return.
Although the spin off series was recorded two years after the end of Phoenix Nights the series itself takes place directly after.
Summary
In Phoenix Nights hapless doormen Maxwell ‘Max’ Bygraves and Patrick ‘Paddy’ O’Shea took £8000 from a woman to kill her husband, but never actually got round to doing the job properly. They also purchased a campervan.
In Road To Nowhere we follow Max and Paddy as they navigate their way around Britain in their campervan to escape the consequences of the job they failed to finish.
