The Two Ronnies In Australia, 1979
The Two Ronnies was not just a huge success in the UK it was also popular in Australia. The series was regularly screened in the country on ABC Television and was repeated several times.
By 1986 the series was reported as being into its second or third airing and was being broadcast in a respectable time slot.
Rewind to 1979 a one off series was made for the Nine Network under the title of The Two Ronnies in Australia.
Seven years later, in 1986, just before Ronnie Barker decided to retire Messrs Barker and Corbett travelled to Australia. Here they made a second series of six episodes, again for the Nine Network.
The series had never been broadcast outside Australia until December 2019, when Channel 5 screened a special program about the series under the title “The Two Ronnies Unseen”
