Fred Basset, 1976

Fred Basset was a cartoon strip that first appeared in the Daily Mail and Mail On Sunday newspapers in 1963 and is still going strong.

However in 1976 he got his own short lived cartoon series.  Twenty short five minute episodes were made and broadcast at the end of the day’s children’s television before the evening news.

Summary

The cartoon followed the adventures of Basset hound: Fred Basset voiced by great character actor Lionel Jeffries.
