Freddie Starr Has Died, Aged 76
We awoke to the news yesterday morning that Freddie Starr had been found dead by a carer in his apartment on the Costa Del Dol region of Spain. Later news bulletins confirmed the Merseyside born funnyman had indeed died of heart disease, although Euro Weekly News reports the coroner in Malaga has confirmed to them that Starr died of natural causes. Whatever the cause Freddie Starr will be sorely missed.
Tributes flooded in for the comic.
Comedian Bobby Davro described him as “the funniest man I have ever seen”, while presenter Amanda Holden said he should be “remembered with a smile”.
Davro tweeted: “I’m so sad we have lost one of our greatest comedy talents.” Comedian Jim Davidson described Freddie Starr as “the greatest” and Lord Alan Sugar Tweeted “According to some news reports Freddie Star has died in Spain . If true sad news, he was a very funny man RIP”
