Ghosts, 2019
A surprise instant hit from the writers of Horrible Histories. Ghosts is a sitcom deliberately aimed at a pre-watershed audience. It boomed from a modest 2.5 million viewers on it’s premier to 5.5 million in 28 days thanks to iPlayer.
In the last six months BBC sources say it has had” a further 1.7 million iPlayer requests. That’s up there with other big comedy hits. We’ve commissioned two more series straight away.”
The series is made by Monumental Pictures, part of ITV studios and filmed on location at West Horsley Place, Surrey.
Summary
Ghosts follows an ordinary couple, Alison and Mike, who, much to their surprise, inherit a crumbling country pile called Button Hall. However the inheritence isn’t the only surprise as the couple realise that the place is in disrepair and haunted by its former occupants.
