High Hopes

High Hopes, 2002

High hopes was a BBC sitcom set in a fictional area of South wales.  It was produced by Gareth Gwenlan of Only Fools and Horses fame.

After a pilot episode was broadcast nationwide on the BBC in 1999, a full series with slight differences to the cast and plot was screened on BBC1 Wales.  The show ran for thirty seven episodes over six series, broadcast exclusively in Wales, between 2002 and 2008.  It returned for a one off special in 2015.

Whilst the series was initially broadcast in Wales it was repeated in 2006 on BBC2 Wales which was available to viewers nationwide via BskyB.
