The Steptoes Get Spooky

Steptoe And Son, Seance In A Wet Rag And Bone Yard, 1974

Seance In A Wet Rag and Bone Yard would be the last regular Steptoe and Son episode.

Closing series 8 there would be a final Christmas Special later in the year and then Steptoe and Son would drift into sitcom history.

There’s a special guest appearance from Patricia Routledge as Madame Fontana and some classic lines in a fitting end (almost) to a classic comedy.

Harold is furious when Albert returns home late one night.   When he tells Harold he’s been to a spiritualist meeting and who he’s been talking to Harold pours scorn.

It’s not long before Harold unravels what he thinks is going on.   Albert advises Harold that they are holding a seance  in their home.

After what Harold breaks up what he sees as a set up there’s a surprise voice from his past to end the episode.
