So Haunt Me, 1992
as we go through Halloween we’ve dug out 3 themed posts which we’ll put out over the next 3 days. We start with this little gem that seems to have been pushed to the back of the repeats cupboard.
Looking back at some of the less well remembered sitcoms we come to an outing for Tessa Peake-Jones (Only Fools And Horses).
Looking back, I found this quite amusing in it’s day and even now it still stands up as funny, Miriam Karlin (of The Rag Trade fame and sadly no longer with us) plays the part of a middle aged Jewish Mother brilliantly.
The show aired for eighteen episodes and one Christmas special over three series between 1992 and 1994.
Summary
When Peter Rokeby loses his job as advertising copywriter, he resolves to become a freelance writer.
The change in circumstances results in the family moving house to a more modest home in Meadow Road, Willesden. It’s not long before they find that they are not the only occupants of the house. The ghost of a previous owner, Yetta Feldman, still occupies the residence, and has been scaring occupants away for years.
While Sally can both see and speak to their ghost, Peter — much to his frustration — initially cannot. The family agrees to help Yetta find her grown-up daughter Carole (“Carol-with-an-E”).
