Network On Air To Launch New Streaming Service

Following the latter’s digitisation programme across its entire holdings – including thousands of classic film titles from Ealing Studios, EMI, Hammer and more.

Initial shows include variety show Big Night Out, hosted by Mike and Bernie Winters, dramas including Dial 999 and Armchair Theatre; the sole surviving episode of Candid Camera fronted by Bob Monkhouse and the 1968 Frankie Howerd special: Howerd’s Hour.

The service runs on a 28-day rental basis rather than subscription or purchase model, with many of its programmes unseen since original broadcast more than 50 years ago.

Notably, alongside a variety of individual programme collections, the service also includes a new strand of ‘Nights In’.

Programming blocks mimicking live broadcast television and each running between 4 and 6 hours in length, the Nights In have been curated in-house by Network and  mix comedy, drama, variety and other entertainment formats alongside contemporary advertisements, alongside newly recorded continuity announcements from original ABC announcer David Hamilton.

Other programmes available from launch include episodes of Opportunity Knocks, Here’s David Nixon, The Bruce Forsyth Show, The Dora Bryan Show, Never Mind The Quality, Feel The Width and arts series Tempo.

Network On Air have a huge range of titles from the ITV archives abd this new service is going to be something to keep returning to for all lovers of vintage TV and those sick of the same old re-cycled box-sets.

The service is available now
