David Walliams And Friend, 2015
David Walliams became a household name alongside Matt Lucas with their Little Britain. He has gone on to write children’s books, write and star in the sitcom Big School and become a judge on Britain’s Got Talent.
In 2015 an idea was conceived to take Walliams back to his roots: sketch comedy. The result was David Walliams And Friend. A pilot show was broadcast in December 2015 with a full series of six episodes following in 2016.
Surprisingly the show was not the success it should have been. Critics slammed it and despite a good start (the pilot episode attracted 6 million viewers), the show began to loose viewers. The first episode of the series attracted 5.1 million viewers by the halfway stage this had fallen to 4.8 with the final episode attracting just 2.3 million.
The show was axed after just one series.
In each of the shows David Walliams is joined by a guest. Together they perform a series of sketches.
