Fun House

Fun House, 1989

Fun House is a British children’s game show, based on the American show of the same name.

Hosted by Pat Sharp the show clocked up an impressive 145 episodes over eleven series between 1989 and 1999.

In 2000 it was revealed that a spin-off of Fun House featuring adult contestants had been planned.  A pilot episode was produced, which included Carol Smilie as a contestant.  However the pilot episode never made it to TV and thefefore a planned series was never commissioned.

Summary

Each episode featured two teams each consisting of a boy and girl representing schools from around the UK.Teams were red and yellow supported by twin cheerleaders, Melanie Grant for the reds and Martina Grant for the yellows.

There were three rounds in each episode.

Round one: known as ‘messy games’ consisting of three games usually involving gunge.

Round two: The Fun Kart Grand Prix.

Round three: The Fun House.
