Scarborough, 2019
After his success with hit sitcom Benidorm, writer Derren Litten was asked to come up with an idea for another sitcom. the result was ‘Scarborough’.
An announcement for the show was made by the BBC in August of 2018 and filming for the show began in Scarborough in April the following year.
The show sadly did not live up to the success of it’s predecessor with a generally poor critical reception given by reviewers, with the exception of Claire Sweeney who got a thumbs up for her performance as Hayley the local man-eater.
Scarborough was cancelled after just one series of six episodes.
Summary
Set in the picturesque seaside resort of Scarborough, the series revolves around the lives of a group of friends who regularly meet up in a pub for karaoke on a Friday night.
