Warren And Alan Partridge Reach The End

But Will There Be More ?

Warren

Warren, premiered on  BBC One back in February, the series, that followed a pedantic driving instructor who thinks the world is against him, came to an end on Monday night.   The series has been panned by both critics and audiences alike for its take on a miserly middle-aged man who is rude to everyone in his life.  So will it get a second series?

Not Looking Likely!

Judging by critical response and falling ratings it doesn’t seem that there is much appetite for another series.  Personally I enjoyed the series. it’s about time comedy was funny without first thinking who am I going to upset?  How many sitcoms that have appeared on our TV screens in the last twenty years will still appeal in forty years time?  Where is the next Steptoe And Son, Good Life, I could go on.

This Time With Alan Partridge

This one has fared a little better.  generally regarded as being up there with the best of Steve Coogan’s Partridge, including 1990’s series Knowing Me, Knowing You.  This Time has been a hit with audiences and critics.

Up For It!

Hope for a second series was fuelled by BBC comedy boss Shane Allen at the launch of the show in February, who seems keen on the idea.  Even writers the Gibbons brothers  confirmed they’d be up for writing more episodes.  However because of the intense nature of the writing even if BBC bosses do commission a second series don’t expect anything too soon.
