The Crystal Cube, 1983

Originally intended as a pilot for a full series The Crystal Cube was one of Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry’s first TV appearances and the first show the pair had written themselves.

First broadcast in 1983 the BBC decided not to make a full series and it would be 4 years later in 1987 when the duo would return to he BBC with another pilot A Bit Of Fry And Laurie which did make it to a full series in 1989.

The Crystal Cube was a spoof science program, based on shows such as Tomorrow’s World. The show was hosted by Jackie Meld (Dame Emma Thompson).
