The Royle Family – Christmas 2009, The Golden Egg Cup
The Royle family was a hugely successful sitcom running for three series.
Like many successful sitcoms it came to an end with a festive edition in December 2000. Showing that you can’t keep a good sitcom down The Royles returned in 2006 for a series of five annual specials that were broadcast annually on Christmas Day until 2012.
For this post we go back to December 2009 and the third of those specials.
Summary
Jim and Barbera are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. To celebrate the event they decide to stay in a holiday caravan in Prestatyn, Denbighshire, Wales,.
Joining in the celebrations they take along with Dave and Denise.
However things don’t quite live up to expectations, with no television or chip pan, the holiday is a disaster and they decide to return home early.
