channel 4 go regal with their sitcom the windsors

The Windsors

The Windsors, 2016

Always a tricky subject but never far from the minds of comedy writers are: The Royals.  This part soap opera, part sitcom is in it’s second season at the time of writing.

It’s certainly divided opinion The Daily Telegraph said of the first episode “The Windsors was rude, crude – and a real blast of punk comedy”,  The series has also drawn criticism from some over it’s storylines such as Kate Middleton catching ebola and Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice getting radicalised.

It’s in it’s second season so something must be right.

Summary

The Windsors puts the British Royal Family into the comedy spotlight again, but this time in the form of a soap opera based on what their lives and loves might just be like.

Although the stories are completely fictional, they are inspired by real events.
