Tom, Dick and Harriet was an ITV sitcom that ran for 2 series of 6 episodes each between 1982 to 1983.

It was created by sitcom writing legends Johnnie Mortimer and Brian Cooke and starred veteran actor Lionel Jeffries in one of his few television roles.

Summary

Thomas Maddison has spent 40 years living in the deepest Cornwall countryside.  Completely hen-pecked by his wife who has banned him from smoking, drinking, and even casually looking at other women.

When his wife dies, the newly widowed Maddison, can’t wait to break free from the shackles that had bound him for so long,.  He heads off to the bright city lights of London, where his son Richard his wife Harriet live.

Now able to be himself Thomas’ rather primitive manners, disgusting habits and womanising create havoc for his son and his daughter-in-law, both of whom are well-manicured executives; him in advertising, her in magazine publishing.

However, in series 2 Harriet has a baby boy giving Richard a son and Thomas the grandson he wants.
