Last Of The Summer Wine, Treasure Of The Deep, 1988
Last one from 1988 for now. We go back to 1988 series 10 and the second episode, Treasure Of The Deep.
It seemed like the show was riding the ultimate high, Michael Aldridge had settled into the role of Seymour and was now in his second series there had been a positive reaction to spin off series First Of The Summer Wine screened the same year.
It did seem like 1988 was the BBC’s year, alongside the ongoing success of Summer Wine there was Allo Allo entering it’s 5th season and Doctor Who would celebrate 25 years later the same year.
It was series 10 that would introduce three new characters over it’s run: Smiler, P.C. Walsh and Auntie Wainwright.
