Mike Yarwood In Persons, 1976
Mike Yarwood had been part of the line up for BBC show Three Of A Kind (another story for another time) and shot to fame with his own BBC show ‘Look Mike Yarwood’ ending in 1976.
He quickly followed the success with a new show later that year ‘Mike Yarwood In Persons’ broadcast as a Bank Holiday special. The show would return for a full series a year later running to 22 episodes over 4 series ending in 1981.
The run also included an annual Christmas Special taking the episode run to 27 including series, pilot and Christmas editions.
It was this show that saw Mike Yarwood star alongside fellow impressionist Janet Brown in Margaret Thatcher sketches and Suzanne Danielle as then Lady Diana.
Summary
Mike Yarwood stars in his unique mix of sketches featuring some well known faces, musical guests and each show would be wrapped up with a song from Yarwood as himself.
