A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum, 1966

Before we went Up Pompeii there was “A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum” a British-American comedy film based on a stage musical of the same name and featuring  an all star cast.

It’s notable for being the final film role for Buster Keaton who despite his ill health, performed nearly all his own stunts in the film.

The film, part comedy/part musical, tells the bawdy story of a slave named Pseudolus, who attempts to win his freedom by helping his young master woo the girl next door.
