Morecambe And Wise Christmas Special – 1971

You can’t have Christmas without Morecambe and Wise.

As compulsive viewing as The Queen’s Speech, Morecambe And Wise’s BBC Christmas shows were unmissable Christmas TV drawing in viewing figures of 20 million or more.  Starting in 1969 and broadcast every year (except 1974) until 1980.

It was Boxing Day 1983 that Morecambe and Wise walked off into the sunset for the last time, today we go back 50 years to 1971.

If we’re still laughing 50 years on that’s what we call British Classic Comedy.

This show contains some of the best remembered sketches, Shirley Bassey having trouble with her foot wear and Eric telling Andre Previn how he plays piano.

A true Christmas classic.
