Arena was a TV documentary series that has been running on the BBC since 1975.  In 2007 legendary comic Ken Dodd became the subject celebrating reaching 80 years of age and still performing.


Ken Dodd’s Happiness was BBC arts strand Arena‘s exploration of Britain’s most enduring variety entertainer.  Revealing his personal analysis of humour and illustrating why Ken Dodd is acknowledged as one of the finest exponents of his comic craft.

Ken discusses his 50 year plus career and the influences of his comedy style.

The documentary featured film clips of his early performances and footage of him on tour.
