Law And Disorder

Law And Disorder, 1994

One of those rarely-seen sitcoms this one starring comedy icon Penelope Keith.

Law And Disorder was produced by John Howard Davies, whose impeccable career has included Steptoe and Son and  Fawlty Towers.  There were also some familiar names making guest appearances including: Tony Robinson, Philip Glenister and Tony Selby.

Law And Disorder ran for just one series of six episodes in 1994.

Summary

Philippa Troy is a barrister whose cases always seem to involve an element of the absurd (if not the downright bizarre).

Phillipa’s clients include an irate football fan sporting a wonky tattoo, and a shipwrecked yachtsman accused of eating his companion!

Her professional colleagues are, if anything, even worse than her clients: Philippa’s principal court adversary is a Bible-thumping bigot, while her instructing solicitor is a keen hypochondriac who insists on regaling her with all the graphic details of his latest ailments.

When it all gets too much for her, though, she can at least withdraw into her other job as an author of Children’s books telling tales of  the fantasy world of Prickly Peter…
