They’ve just announced one final date at the 02 and have said that will be the FINAL time they perform together.  Michael Palin was interviewed on BBC Radio 2’s Simon Mayo show Thursday 3rd April talking about Python and the up and coming live shows you can hear it until Thursday 10th April at http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b03zdgpz.

For this post we go back 16 years to what was billed as the last reunion Michael Palin talked about this in his interview.  It’s 1998 and the Pythons re-unite along with a special urn for one last time ?

Summary

A reunion show featuring the five surviving members of Monty Python: John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, and Michael Palin. Graham Chapman was also allegedly in attendance as his “ashes” were brought out in an urn.

In the show the Pythons look back at their work and receive an American Film Industry award. It also featured some memorable moments when Gilliam ‘accidentally’ kicked over the urn, which Eric Idle said was their biggest audience laugh ever. It was hosted by Robert Klein and featured a cameo by Eddie Izzard.
