In 2014, the BBC marked the 60th anniversary of Hancock’s Half Hour first being broadcast on radio with a series of re-makes of episodes missing from the archives, this was entitled the Missing Hancocks. However resurrecting an old show for a new audience was not the only idea they resurrected.
A series of three one off potential sitcom pilots was aired under the familiar title BBC Comedy Playhouse. Of the three pilots, it was episode two: Miller’s Mountain that went on to become a six part series entitled “Mountain Goats” airing in 2015.
At the time of this post (July 2016) the BBC had yet to make any comment on a possible series 2.
Set around the stunning Highlands of Scotland. Mountain Goats centres around the antics of a ragtag group of Mountain Rescue volunteers. When the volunteers aren’t out rescuing people, or being rescued themselves, they spend their time in The Old Goat pub – a place of great warmth and camaraderie, where people come in for a quick pint and never want to leave.
