The Birthday was an episode of the long running BBC Comedy Playhouse series which by this time was on series 13.
The same series that saw Of Funerals And Fish become the long running Last Of The Summer Wine, ‘The Birthday’ became The Gordon Peters Show in April the same year.
In this pilot episode Gordon is joined by a host of familiar face including: Frank Thornton (Are You Being Served?), Bill Pertwee and Pamela Cundell (Dad’S Army)
Summary
Running along the same lines as the series that followed Gordon Peters plays Gordon a bewildered loner who’s at constant odds with the world around him.
In this episode Gordon faces celebrating his birthday alone, determined to make an occasion of it.
