Randall And Hopkirk Re-Made?

Randall And Hopkirk (Deceased) The Re-Make, 2000

How could you mess with a cult classic? Well the BBC did and made quite a good job of it.  In 2000 Randall and Hopkirk returned to our screens on a Saturday night and on BBC.

In this version comedians Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer play the detectives and are very good.  The series has a darker feel to it than the original. In the new version Marty enlists help in adjusting to his new existence by a spirit guide in the form of Professor Wyvern.

The BBC remake ran for thirteen episodes over two series between 2000 and 2001.

A series that has not benefitted from regular repeats, if you’ve never seen it it’s worth checking out.

Summary

Jeff Randall and Marty Hopkirk are partners in a detective agency/security firm. When Marty is killed in a car accident, he returns as a ghost to help his old partner and widow Jeanie, solve cases.

Only Randall can see his dead partner, though Marty is able to move objects through supernatural means.
