A forgotten sitcom starring Arthur Lowe. We say forgotten in that it’s not a regular on the repeat schedules, there are no clips as such on You Tube and as far as we can tell no commercial DVD release.
The Last Of The Baskets ran for 2 series, totalling 13 episodes in 1971 and 1972 (by the dates it’s quite possible that episodes have been deleted from the archive). It’s a slight change of direction for Arthur Lowe as he does not play the main character.
Summary
Factory worker Clifford Basket inherits the title of the Earl of Clogborough and what remains of the estate which comprises a rundown mansion at Little Clogborough-in-the-Marsh and a faithful servant Bodkin.
