Cuckoo, 2012

This BBC sitcom made it’s debut on BBC Three in 2012, with repeats on BBC1.  To date there have been three series with a further two series commissioned in 2016.

On it’s debut the series launch became BBC Three’s most-watched comedy launch, beating the previous record for the channel set by Bad Education, which debuted the previous month.

Actor Greg Davies was nominated for a BAFTA for Best Male Performance in a Comedy Programme.  The series was also recognised at the British Comedy Awards, where Cuckoo was nominated for Best New Comedy Programme and Greg Davies was nominated for Best TV Comedy Actor.

In 2016 the programme began airing to a worldwide audience on Netflix.

Ken and Lorna Thompson’s daughter Rachel has returned from her gap year with a new husband, Cuckoo – self-appointed spiritual ninja.

Cuckoo is every parent’s worst nightmare – a slacker full of outlandish, New Age ideas. Ken and Lorna have no choice but to welcome him into their family home – and if every Englishman’s home is his castle, then this hippie has stormed Ken’s fortress and plundered everything, most unforgivably, his princess.
