Get Well Soon

Get Well Soon, 1997

The 1990’s saw the return of many famous names from the world of comedy from writers to actors.  Get Well soon came from the pen of two very well known sitcom writers: Ray Galton and John Antrobus (Alan Simpson had retired from writing in 1978)

Get Well Soon was based on the meeting of the legendary comedy script writers Ray Galton and Alan Simpson.  Sadly despite the writing pedigree the show lasted just six episodes.

Summary

Get Well Soon focused on the everyday lives of a group of patients, doctors, nurses and other staff at a National Health Service hospital during the post-World War II period.

On a day in 1947, Roy Osborne is admitted to a TB sanatorium. Thinking he’ll only be there for a few weeks, he soon realises that it could be several years before he can leave.
