Hancock’s Half Hour, The East Cheam Centenary

Hancock’s Half Hour, The East Cheam Centenary, 1960

With all the preparations for the Platinum Jubilee we thought we’d take a trip back to 1960 where the lad is preparing for a celebration of 100 years of East Cheam.

The East Cheam Centenary was actually the penultimate episode of both series 6 of the popular sitcom and the penultimate episode of Hancock’s Half Hour.  The series that followed would see changes to the successful format including the title being changed to Hancock and episode lengths shortened to 25 minutes.

Summary

When East Cheam celebrates it’s 100th anniversary it’s decided that the occasion be marked by holding a carnival.  Hancock volunteers to organise the event.
